10 Dec - Well the football season has finally ended. Not a great way to close
out the year. A lot of things had to happen for SU to have a chance - and none
of them did. Troy was slightly injured late in the game. From all
reports he only sprained his knee and no surgery will be necessary. We
wish him the best and will try and follow his career - whether football related
or not. The final stats are also updated. Some highlights includes
- positive rushing yards for the season - after being negative for a long time,
career high passing attempts and completions, career high passing completions
(24) and career high passing yds in a game (403). Also, I finally posted
all my photos in gallery 4. Some from pre-season and some from the Temple
game. See that page for info on better resolution pictures or prints.
Check back for monthly updates during the off-season. 24 Nov - A Loss at BC ensured SU of a losing season. I really thought SU was gonna pull it off - we were on a good streak. Since I did not see the BC game I won't comment on the Lack of Offense. I see our Defense still likes to give up 40 pts a game. Well thats in the past. Lets look to the Miami game. Most analysts say Miami BIG! Does SU have a chance, yes, a very small one. If we pull the upset it will be by a pt or two. The only chance SU has is to be at least +3 on turnovers, have its greatest rushing day, Troy have a 300 yd passing day, and our Defense to give up less than 30 pts. Sounds easy enough. Look for SU to cover the pts but lose in the end. 12 Nov - 3 in a row with Troy at the helm. All pages have been updated. Photo gallery #3 is now up. Some old and new photos. Check back within the week for exclusive photos. I should have them scanned in soon. As far as the games go: As I figured, UCF and VT were wins. Troy broke 2 of his personal best records during VT game (most completions and most passing yds). Coach P is really kicking himself now. SU should be no worse than 7-3. Should of...would of...could off.. is his new motto. Look for another Win at BC this upcoming week. 28 Oct - It feels good to be vindicated. A big win by SU, thanks to Troy Nunes. Good stats both passing and running (almost erased his negative rush yds to date). A fast start and a fast finish. Now thats what we should have done to Temple. For all you naysayers that say wait until next week or why are we playing a Senior when the season's over - Too Win! We need some kind of record to help recruiting. God knows Coach P stinks at it. Read the AD's interview at Syracuse.com. We can only hope next year brings new faces. 24 Oct - Finally some good news, Coach P finally made a GOOD decision. He said Troy will start this Saturday against Rutgers. Gee it only took him seven games to figure it out. I have a feeling we will be saying what if he only made that decision 4 games ago when he should have. I expect great things this weekend. Look for a 14 plus point margin of victory. And don't say Rutgers is a pushover - even RJ could win that one. Recall Temple!!! The West Virginia Game was a nightmare. Once again, too little too late. I pathetic first half of offense put the game out of reach early. Troy did get into the game with 10 minutes left in the 3rd. He had good numbers and sparked the team, but it was too late. Coach P lost us another easy one. 15 Oct - Well it doesn't get much worse than this. Losing to Temple. I was at the game and it wasn't pretty. Yes, the kicking game sucks big time. Coach P should never have let it get this bad. Our offense is terrible. RJ had a so so game. But with Troy we would have had 2-3 more TD's. Come on it's TEMPLE. If Coach P continues on this path of "My stater is RJ, Period!", then we all should tune out and start watching SU basketball. 30 Sept - Now even I'm questioning Coach P and his decisions. He finally was pressured into bringing in Troy, but not until 3 1/2 quarters were wasted. Troy put up spectacular numbers for time played. 9 for 10 passing, 80yds, 1 TD, and 16 Yds receiving. Awesome play! RJ Anderson was a disaster. Nunes should have been brought in after halftime. Hopefully this will be a permanent change - right coach!!! 27 Sept - Its been a good 2 weeks. No game last week and a win the previous one. That all comes to a CRASHING end this week. There is NO way SU will even come close to beating Auburn without major injuries and numerous fumbles. SU is overmatched. Our offense may score 9 or 10 points. Defense will allow 30-40. 16 Sept - Well, we finally beat up on a AA team. Glad to see we know how to score a TD or two. Not much to say this week - "Results Expected". Troy did get some playing time at end of 3rd Quarter. Not too impressive debut. Kind of tough to get up for a team like RI. See stats page for numbers. I'm sure we will be back to true form in 2 weeks when we play Auburn. I hope SU takes the week off and learns how to play football. I predict a 21 point loss. 9 Sept - Orange fans need to start worrying. Looks like a sub .500 season if we continue on as we are. N.C was a team that we should have beat with ease. A SLOW start and boring finish. Troy once again did not play, coach's decision (stupid). RJ failed to inspire much enthusiasm from teammates. Mostly hand offs and some good defense kept SU in it for 3 quarters. Glad to see the Forums starting to question RJ's ability. Let's get TROY NUNES a start - or at least some plays in the upcoming games. Paul - save our |
